Every school holidays I always reread Fruts Basket, a manga, that will always be a timeless classic to me, when reading it I always have a little cry because its so moving and because of the plot development that causes you to empathise with all the characters, as they grow and learn. The series has the ability to draw out compassion in even the most cynical of people. It may, at first, look like a tale of heart felt warmth and laughter but really it is a story of a sorrows and pain. The ending was...well unforgettable.
The picture is from the manga, the one at the back in the black and green kimono is my favourite character. One of the main`ish characters, the dog, Shigure. You'll understand if you ever read it.
ps. The anime is not even worth comparing with the manga. In fact, where the anime stops like like book 8 out of the 23 book series so don't even think about watching it. The anime also expresses only the funny and lovely side. It has no depth within the storyline and the ending leaves so many loose ends untied. The animation could also have been better. God if anyone tells me that anime version is good, they'll get a face full of punches ^^
